Best brunch spots in Melbourne

Australia’s bushfires are, and should be, the main concern of everybody in the world wherever they are. One way of helping Australians battle this disastrous climate change right now is to go visit them, to make sure tourism still flows and they get the money they need to rescue the land, the animals and the people.

With this in mind, remember to make sure you are always a conscious traveller and respect the planet, and make Australia jump to the top of your travel plans!

Have you booked your flight yet? Next destination, Melbourne? Here I come to the rescue with this blog post showing you all the best brunch spots in Melbourne so that you will know exactly where to go for your next coffee fix in the Australian city. You’re welcome.

Shortstop Coffee and Donuts

It’s not a coincidence that this place is called Shortstop: it only has two small tables and about three stools, but it’s mainly a place for takeaway or, indeed, a “short stop”. Their coffee is pretty good, but their signature is definitely the huge amount of delicious donuts they offer! From the drinks inspired Mocha, Matcha and Earl Grey donuts to the fruity Passion fruit or the chocolatey Peanut Butter Caramel and Cookies and Cream ones, Shortstop Coffee and Donuts will certainly satisfy your sweet cravings.

Industry Beans

Former warehouse in the heart of Fitzroy, with it’s own coffee beans and it’s industrial and very trendy interiors, Industry Beans offers a great variety of coffee blends that will keep you attached to your chair for hours. Their brunch menu changes regularly with the season and they are so committed to coffee that every fortnight they introduce a new coffee menu with new origins from all over the world. Also a great workspace as their big tables have got plenty of space for your laptop AND your avo toast! Find Industry Beans in Fitzroy, as well as in CBD or, outside Melbourne, even in Sydney and Brisbane.

Kitty Burns

With the name inspired by the first neon sign in Australia figuring the two “skipping girl” sisters from Abbotsford Kitty Minogue and Bobbie Burns, Kitty Burns wants to bring to its place a quiet yet playful look that reflects the rich history of the neighbourhood. Flooded with natural light, and blending through glass walls with the quietude and natural beauty of the Yarra River, Kitty Burns has a pretty on point brunch menu to go with its gorgeous interiors: avocado on toast, granola bowls, eggs, cakes and all the delicious smoothies and coffees.

Code21

This. Place. Is. Heaven. On. Earth. Especially for an instagrammer. Code21, in Brunswick, is the hipster yet super chic coffeeshop everybody expects to find in Melbourne. Their wall dΓ©cor definitely takes the spot, but overall the interiors are so pleasing you won’t want to leave. The food is a 10/10, equally tasty and beautiful, perfect for your next girls brunch in the town.

Now that you know all the best brunch spots in Melbourne, set your alarm and get ready to be there bright and early: as opposed to most London’s coffeeshops, Melbourne is a city that mainly functions in the mornings and at night, nothing in between! Don’t try and go for a late brunch in the afternoon as you will most likely find all these places shut already.
